Lead Product Manager (Technical Product Lead)

About the role

Kolomoni Microfinance Institution (Gambia), a CBG-licensed microfinance institution serving customers across The Gambia, is recruiting a Lead Product Manager to own product delivery across its technology initiatives. The role reports to the Chief Technology Officer and makes the candidate the single point of accountability for requirement quality, turning business needs into something engineering can build.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and communicate product roadmaps aligned with organisational objectives.
• Translate business requirements into product requirements, user stories, process flows and acceptance criteria.
• Own and prioritise the backlog by business value, customer impact and dependency.
• Hold requirements to standard, ensuring they are sufficiently defined and technically assessed before development begins.
• Facilitate refinement, sprint planning, demonstrations and release planning, and coordinate user acceptance testing.
• Manage dependencies, risks, constraints and delivery blockers, escalating what the team cannot resolve.
• Ensure security, compliance, regulatory and operational requirements are built in rather than retrofitted.

Required profile

• Substantial experience in product management or product ownership, delivering software through a full lifecycle.
• Experience working directly with engineers on technical feasibility and delivery planning.
• A first degree in computer science, engineering, business or a related discipline.
• Agile and Scrum delivery experience.
• Product, Agile or project management certification is an advantage; experience in financial services, payments or another regulated environment is also an advantage.
