IT/Network Support Officer

About the role

Kolomoni Microfinance Institution (Gambia), a microfinance institution licensed and regulated by the Central Bank of The Gambia and a subsidiary of CapitalSage Holdings, is looking for an IT/Network Support Officer in Banjul. The role keeps the network running across Head Office and every branch and provides first- and second-level IT support to staff.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the network running across Head Office and every branch: routers, switches, firewalls, access points and VPN.
• Administer Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
• Set up, change and remove user access on approved requests.
• Run backups, apply patches and keep security controls tight.
• Give first- and second-level support to staff and fix hardware faults.
• Set up equipment for new staff and new branches.
• Keep the IT asset register and documentation current, and manage vendors and internet providers.

Required profile

• Degree or HND in computer science, IT, engineering or a related field.
• At least 4 years' hands-on experience across IT support, network administration and system administration.
• Experience in a multi-branch financial institution is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and to explain technical issues to non-technical colleagues.

Required skills

• Strong command of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and VLAN.
• Cisco, Juniper or equivalent hardware.
• Active Directory and Microsoft 365 administration.
• CompTIA (A+, Network+, Security+) or Microsoft or Cisco CCNA certification is an advantage.
