Reintegration Assistant

About the role

The Reintegration Assistant will support the implementation and monitoring of the “Strengthening the Reintegration of Returnees in The Gambia (STRONG) at the Community level” project. Working under the Chief of Mission/Officer‑in‑Charge and reporting to the Reintegration Officer, the incumbent will contribute to community‑based reintegration initiatives and mental health and psychosocial support services for returnees and host communities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, executing and tracking project activities related to community reintegration and MHPSS.
• Support capacity‑building workshops and training sessions for local stakeholders, including government officials and NGOs.
• Collect, verify and report data on project progress, beneficiaries and outcomes.
• Facilitate coordination between IOM teams, partner organisations and community groups.
• Provide logistical and administrative support for field visits, meetings and events.

Required profile

• High school diploma with at least four years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in political/social sciences, international relations, development studies, migration studies, human rights, law or a related field with at least two years of experience.
• Demonstrated experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking or other vulnerable groups.
• Previous interaction with government authorities, UN agencies or international humanitarian organisations.
• Strong communication skills in English and the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
