Programme Management Assistant

About the role

The Programme Management Assistant supports the Resident Coordinator's Office (RCO) in Banjul, The Gambia, under the guidance of the Head of the RCO. The role contributes to the preparation of the 2026 Common Country Analysis (CCA) and other analytical products that inform UN development priorities and SDG implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordination and implementation of the 2026 CCA update and related analytical outputs.
• Research, compile, analyse and summarise quantitative and qualitative data on SDGs, demographics, socio‑economic trends, sector studies and vulnerability assessments.
• Collect and organise information from UN entities, government bodies, development partners, academia and other stakeholders.
• Maintain evidence matrices, source libraries and knowledge‑management tools.
• Identify information gaps and prepare background notes, evidence briefs and analytical inputs for review by the Head of RCO and the UN Country Team.
• Serve as focal point for CCA‑related consultations, workshops and inter‑agency engagements.
• Prepare agendas, briefing materials and reference packages for coordination activities.
• Monitor comments and feedback from consultations and ensure timely incorporation into draft products.

Required profile

• Works under direct supervision of the Head of the Resident Coordinator Office.
