Internship – International Trade Projects in Banjul, Gambia

About the role

The International Trade Centre offers three paid‑unpaid internship positions in Banjul, Gambia. Interns will support one of the flagship programmes – the EU Youth Empowerment Project, the Andandorr Programme, or the WACA Livelihood Programme – gaining hands‑on experience in international development and MSME support.

Key responsibilities

• Assist programme officers in implementing activities for the assigned flagship programme.
• Support coordination of trainings, workshops and stakeholder meetings, including logistics and participant tracking.
• Conduct desk research on MSMEs, tourism, creative industries or livelihoods and help prepare concept notes and reports.
• Collect and analyse programme data, maintain databases and dashboards, and contribute to monitoring and evaluation reports.
• Document activities and draft communication materials such as success stories and briefs for donor visibility.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a graduate programme, final year of a bachelor programme, or recent graduate (within one year) in economics, business, development studies, tourism, creative industries, public policy or related fields.
• Strong analytical, research and written communication skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and handle administrative support tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Basic data management and analysis capabilities.
